Shelagh Metselaar - Challenge 19

Shelagh Metselaar

Materials:
* Cardstock:- White; Centura Pearl; Dovecraft Silver Mirri Board; DCWV chalkboard paper
* Stamps:- NDC 87 Pine Forest; Forest re-mountable collection - pheasant
* Ink Pads:- Versafine Onyx Black
* Pan Pastels:- various
* Spectrum Noir alcohol pens

Instructions:
1. Cut white card (dimensions 7ins x 5ins) and place it on worktop with short edges top and bottom. Using Onyx black, stamp Pine forest to fill width of card approx. half way down card. Stamp more secondary images behind to give depth and below as a reflection.
2. On a separate strip of card stamp another tree line. Stamp three pheasant images below the trees and colour using alcohol markers. Stamp along the foot of the strip using the shrub stamps from the remountable ‘Forest’ set.
3. Cut two sun/moon masks from ‘post it notes’ and place above and below tree line on the large piece of card. Blend Pan Pastel colours to suit above and below tree line. (I used pale yellow, orange, red and deep red above; pale blue and royal blue below and three shades of green for the strip.
4. Remove the masks and blend the colours over the sun and its refection with a clean area of sponge and residual Pan Pastels. (At this stage, I like to polish the stamp with a clean paper towel or tissue to give a more subtle result.)
5. Trim main card and mount onto chalkboard paper, silver Mirri, white Centura Pearl, silver Mirri.
6. Using two sheets of Centura Pearl, create an easel card only slightly wider than the completed image with a mountain fold front. Attach the main card to the easel.
7. Trim around the tree line and mount onto chalkboard paper, silver Mirri and white Centura Pearl. Attach to fold at front.

  1. I love the reflection you have attained on this card it really shows a depth to it when combined with the stepper-type foreground. A great card.
